Chemo Tuesday!

Happy Chemo Tuesday Team Princess Maggie!! I slept in until 11:00! So I ordered lunch for my breakfast 🙂 Chemo went well yesterday. My doctors have decided to cut one of my chemo therapies in half since my body has had such a hard time recovering from it. As long as everything goes well I’ll have chemo today and tomorrow evening and then I’ll get to go home! Thank you all for your prayers!!

The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.

Shekinah Festival

Image

My family and I had a great time at the shekinah festival today!! It was so nice to get to play out in the sunshine and be around other kids my age! I enjoyed doing sand art, getting my face painted, riding the barrel train, and playing on the bounce house. Also, my doctors said that my counts on friday looked good enough that I should hopefully be able to start chemo this monday!! We will get to stay at ronald mcdonald’s house on sunday night because I have to be at the hospital at 6 in the morning to start drinking the contrast for my CT scans at 8. I am being sedated for these scans so that they can get a good picture. They will be doing three scans: one of my chest, abdomen, and pelvis. Please pray that the doctors see what they need to see and that no new tumors have grown 🙂

Good news and bad news

20130909-184705.jpg
I have good news and bad news. The good news is I don’t have chemo this week. The bad news is I can’t have chemo this week. I am grateful I get to stay home, and am trusting God that this is what is best for my body this week. Please pray that my platelet counts will come up enough by next Monday that I can have my 5 days of chemo.
On another good note I have 2 new pets!! They are crickets, and I named them aurora and rapunzel! I am hoping when I am finished with my chemo (hopefully by the end of the year or maybe next spring) I can get my very own puppy! She will be a sheltie and I will name her aurora angel.
Thank you for checking in on me and for your prayers!!
Love,
Maggie

Taking it easy

20130829-171909.jpg

We found out yesterday that my ANC (a measurement of my immune system) is super low even though I have been getting neupogen shots. So today I have been playing inside and taking if easy. Sometimes I get frustrated when I can’t play with my friends and go places they go, but I know it’s for the best. Please ask God that the shots I’m getting will work well and that my hemoglobin comes back up! Also pray for my great mamaw Lyon and my friend Addie as they recover in the hospital from their surgeries. I would like to thank God that our friend came and fixed our air conditioning this week because it was SO hot! Also that my online christian school gave me 3 scholarships so that my mommy and daddy won’t have to pay very much for my tuition! I love you all!! -Maggie

Headed home!

So after 6 days of being in the hospital for chemo treatments, I finally get to go home!! Boy am I tired. Please pray that my platelet count recovers better before my next chemo (this past time it took 3 whole weeks and 3 blood product transfusions!). Also, that I won’t be too nauseous. I am looking forward to playing with my brothers and getting to sleep in my own bed. Thank you so much for your support with my gamerosity campaign!! I can’t wait to see what my surprise is!

Here is a picture of me with some of my hospital friends watching Red, White, and Boom!  It was a great view from the twelfth floor!

I would like to thank God that my hospital stay and chemo are going pretty well this time around.  On Monday I was supposed to start but some of my tests didn’t clear so we had to hold off a day.  I would like to ask for prayer for one of my hospital friends family; he left this earth yesterday while just a few rooms down from me and I’m sure his family could use lots of prayers.  There is another friend of mine who has been here (the hospital) for a very long time since his bone marrow transplant; pray that he will get to go home soon with his family. Also if you would please pray for me as my chemo is winding down that it has been effective and that my cancer stays away along with all of the other kids who are fighting this fight with me!

Here is a picture of a couple of my friends and I playing doctor with my “Doc McStuffings” set!  We got all of the stuffed animals fixed up!  I would like to thank God that my counts were good enough to begin chemo yesterday.  Also if you would pray for my hospital stay this week with my chemo.  Pray that it works in fighting my cancer and that my body will be able to recovery quickly so that I can get my next round of chemo on schedule.

Here is a picture of me at home enjoying one of my dresses!  I would like to thank God for the time that I have had at home; I have enjoyed my family.  I am also thankful for the beautiful sun shine and the warm weather that it is bringing.

If you would please pray for my treatments this week that they would be effective and that my body would handle them well.

Here is a picture of me yesterday getting my chemo.  I decided to make it a fun day and build a blanket fort to play in while we were waiting for chemo!  I would like to thank God that this week has gone well with my chemo and that I have mostly been feeling well.  If you would pray for my treatments to be effective and for my cancer not to come back again.  Also pray for my family; it gets tiring being split up so much and makes us all tired.

Here is a picture of me on my way to my checkup last week.  I am over going to the hospital so much.  I would like to say that I am thankful for all the things that God has allowed me to do and for the people that I love that are all around me (even at the hospital).  I would also like to thank Jesus who sacrificed Himself for our sins.  Today is Easter and we celebrate that death couldn’t even keep Jesus down for long!

I would like to ask for prayer for my treatments this week and for my family as we will be pretty busy again while we are split up.
